To counteract this the Canarian government have put Tenerife back into tier 3 and we will stay in that tier until the numbers go down, this puts more restrictions in bars and restaurants, only 4 people can sit at a table inside and 6 outside they are also restricted to 50% capacity and social distancing . Masks must still be worn when outside in populated areas and even if you are not wearing it you must carry it with you as it is an offence not to. It is also an offence to smoke on the street and on our complex and in the pool area.

VACINATIONS the vacination program is progressing well now after a bumpy start across Europe, they are now doing 18 to 30 age groups and many people have received their second jab, hopefully we will start to see some better results soon.

POOL AREA We were hoping to start using the sun beds around the pool in July but going into tier 3 makes this impossible as we have to adhere to strict laws. Social distancing in and around the pool. You can only lay around the pool on the red circles on the floor, if they are full up you must not stay in the area. You must also put your apartment number on the list as you enter the pool area, you cannot take any inflatables into the pool area and the pool is solely for the use of residents of the heights, please do not invite people from outside to use our pool as they will be asked to leave the complex.

Hopefully if we all stick to the rules and keep safe the numbers will fall and allow Tenerife to get back to some normality and get the tourism going again which the island depends on so much.

We have started replanting the solarium and the pots near lifts etc and this work is still ongoing.

The repairing and painting of the basura doors, entrance gates and front fences may not now start until September, I will keep you informed.

I think we will see a lot more owners here in Tenerife over the next few months as a lot of you have been unable to visit for 18 months or so since the pandemic started. I know that restrictions are easing around the World and soon it could be time to visit again and support our local businesses, but whatever you do keep safe follow the rules and we will all be OK.

Paul

What’s on, in and around Los Cristianos, (added by Steve, with thanks to Colin Kirby for the info)

Arona Pays Tribute To The Great Singers

They may be gone but their music has left its legacy. Los Cristianos will be hosting two tribute concerts at the Auditorio Infanta Leonor in the centre of town. Social distancing will mean limited tickets so get yours soon.

Sat 17 July – Queen Project at 8pm, tickets are 20 euros in advance or 25 euros on the night. Only 200 seats are available.

Fri 23 July – Bob & Amy – a tribute to Bob Marley and Amy Winehouse. Starts at 8pm with tickets just 8 euros.

You can buy tickets from the Cultural Centre reception or online at tomaticket.es , please note if using on line booking, the website asks for a NIE number.

The weather was much improved and is now very hot with clear skies most days.
