September was like August very quiet.<\/p>\n
We have seen a few owners who haven’t been here for almost 2 years.\u00a0 Some of the British owners were quite surprised how many restrictions we still have here, because the UK released all restrictions in August.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 We started the month in tier 4, this is the highest tier and comes with many strict rules, ie mask wearing and strict pool rules, I have still had people complaining to me about sun beds etc, I have been trying to explain that this is how it is in Tenerife and we must obey the laws or leave the community open to fines starting at 15,000 euros and as the President I am not prepared to leave our owners at that risk because of the views of a minority.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 As the month went on we went to tier 3\u00a0 and then tier 2,\u00a0 at this point we put 10 sun beds and some parasols around the pool area for people to use and it is good to see people around the pool.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Hopefully this week we will go to tier 1 this will allow us more people around the pool and more beds but mask restrictions will still apply.<\/p>\n
The weather has been good throughout the month in fact too hot at times .<\/p>\n
Unfortunately on one of our sister islands\u00a0 \u00a0La Palma\u00a0 \u00a0the volcano is erupting and is a bigger eruption than was predicted.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0La Palma is the island to the right of La Gomera when you look from the Heights,\u00a0 it is only visible at certain times and many of you would not have seen it.\u00a0 This eruption has been devastating for the island as the lava flow has swallowed up around 800 houses so far and is still going.\u00a0 It is so unpredictable as to where it will go next,\u00a0 in the last week the flow got to the sea and has so far produced a land mass as big as 30 plus football pitches.\u00a0 \u00a0Around 7000 people have been evacuated from their homes and many have been told to stay indoors with doors and windows shut because of noxious gases.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Army and emergency services from all the islands are deployed there to keep islanders safe.\u00a0 \u00a0Fred Olsen ferries have been taking them\u00a0 through the port in Los Cristianos.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 There have been collections and appeals for the islanders and also the many animals that have been displaced and it is good to see the islands pulling together to help.\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 According to the experts the eruption is likely to continue for some weeks. The pictures of the explosions and flow coming from the island\u00a0 are magnificent but the damage it is doing is devastating.<\/p>\n
Tenerife is showing signs of getting back to a new\u00a0 normal,\u00a0 more big hotels opening this month ie The Gran Arona down by the sea front opened this week after being closed for about 20 months, some restaurants are also opening, helping the island get back to normal\u00a0 again.<\/p>\n
If the covid numbers continue to fall we are hopefully looking forward to a much better year ahead.<\/p>\n
