September 2019

September was mainly very warm but we did get a day of very welcome heavy rain towards the end of the month.
Garage.. the new locks are now fitted to the three garage doors and many owners have been to see me to collect and sign for there 2 keys per garage space. We are restricting it to 2 keys to eliminate the problem of non garage owners using the garage as the entrance to the complex, as we have had complaints about security. I have had a few complaints from non garage owners when I have refused them keys but the committee have decided that this is the best way to eliminate the problem. If you still haven’t got your keys please contact me by the pool 10 till 11 every day .
The complex has gone very quiet now and Jose and Matilda have returned from their months holiday. We are now carrying out more maintenance work on the site, and the cleaners have got the complex clean again after many days of calima, I did have one complaint about the state of the complex, but we must realise that when heavy calimas are around it makes the cleaners job almost impossible, no sooner had they got it clean another calima followed, I want to thank our cleaners for their hard work at these times.
Last Sunday 29th September we experienced a 6 hour power cut in Los Cristianos and longer in the north of the island, it transpired that the whole of the island was cut off due to a problem in Granadilla power station and at Candaleria. This caused a lot of problems throughout the island , phones were down and internet etc. We had problems with lifts, internet and water pumps after the power was restored but we had it all sorted by Monday afternoon. This is a very rare occurrence nowadays and I have never heard of the whole island being cut off before.
The pool bar is now open again and is being run by Paul and Natalie who have been living on the Heights for about a year , Paul tells me that he wants it to be a family bar catering for both residents and outside customers, I wish them well so please give them a try they are very friendly and helpful.

August just flew by, the weather was just perfect very hot and clear skies all through the month.
Lots of owners and friends spent their holidays here as usual and a good time was had by all . The complex was quite busy as is usual at this time of year however the pool area was fairly quiet due to the pool bar being closed again. The pool bar was closed at the end of July, and we have no idea when it will re-open hopefully it won’t be too long.
For some time now we have had a problem with the locks on the garage doors and we have been working with llave sur who have always supplied us with the lock barrels and keys but now only a small number of the keys actually work in the new locks. We have been left with no other option but to order new barrels and keys and these will be available from Monday morning. If you are a garage owner please come down to the pool area between 10 and eleven with 2 garage keys and we will exchange them for 2 new ones. For security reasons there will be no extra keys given unless a person has a good reason, for example disabled people who need it for wheelchair access in which case they will be able to buy a key at a price of 15 euros which will be available from universal properties.
We look forward to the autumn in Tenerife and hope that you will enjoy the complex as you have during this summer season.

JULY 2019
Last Updated on Wednesday, 7 August 2019 03:42 Written by Paul Tassell Wednesday, 7 August 2019 03:42
JULY was a lot warmer and also much busier as the schools are breaking up for their summer holidays across Europe,
I found it necessary to put signs on the entrance door to the pool stating the pool rules and some spanish law, people still allow young children into the pool area unattended. All we ask is that owners and guests of owners respect the rules of the complex and the staff.
The pool bar has proved to be a bit of a problem later in the month as it shut down for a few days due to reopen on 1st august, it actually opened on 3 August but has shut again today, we now don’t know what will happen there. We still have a cooled vending machine in the pool area if you want a drink or snack.
It is very hot now and I remind you how dangerous the sun is here you can burn very quickly if you don’t use high factor sun cream.
We had a very expensive repair to our lifts on A and B block where some idiot had vandalised the led readout telling you which floor you are on. Less than 24 hours later (possibly the same idiot) had tried again to ruin our lifts. If we catch any person vandalising any part of our complex we will hand the matter over to the police .
For all of you who come to the Heights at this time I wish you a very happy stay and a safe one.
