AUGUST 2021

August has been very quiet in comparison to other years which is to be expected in the current situation.

We are still experiencing lots of issues and regulations in respect of covid 19.                      The authorities put Tenerife into tier 4 early in the month due to the rise in the infection rate, which tightened regulations even more.  Some tenants  and owners have been to put it politely awkward, and considered the regulations didn’t apply to them and are disregarding the covid rules.  In my opinion this attitude only goes to extend the time that the regulations will be in force  and ultimately disregard of the regulations could cost our community 15,000 euros or more in fines. As the figures have now improved we have moved into tier 3.    Numbers are still falling in the canaries and we are hopeful that we will go into a lower tier later this month. Now we are on a downward trend we will consider reinstating the sun beds but still with tight rules .

The weather has been fantastic but the month finished with an extremely hot period and       calima this put us on yellow and red alert at times for heat wind and fires on the mountain, that weather has passed now but it is still very hot.

Many hotels and business’s in tenerife are still closed, hopefully as things improve here we will see more opening again, the pool bar is open on the complex but Don Quijote restaurant remains closed at the moment.

It was lovely to see some owners who have not been here for a very  long time coming out to their apartments again ,

Hopefully when I do my next blog things will be still improving and the island will be getting back to some sort of normal.
