The Heights
May 2026 update
Presidents comments.
The AGM went well, it lasted 75 minutes, Viktoria ( Etelinas replacement) will be sending out the minutes to all owners very soon, or you may already have them by the time this is published.
Javier left the committee after many years, due to personal reasons, he was a good asset on the team, and we wish him all the very best for the future, taking his place is Alex from D4, and we look forward to working with her in the coming year.
The increase in community fees was agreed, and the vote to continue charging for sunbeds ..etc. was voted 48 for, 33 against.
There were lots of discussions about the complex, one of them was access on to the complex via the garage entrance door, and the fire door into B block, which the committee will be taking a look at in the coming weeks to see if we can make some improvements.
You probably already know that this was Etelinas last AGM, she is now retired, and we would like to thank her for all the years she has looked after The Heights with complex issues, and her specialist knowledge, she has been a great help to me and our committee, and many previous Presidents.
Complex news/ issues/updates.
Once again, I have had lots of calls/Texts about dogs and cats causing problems on the complex, its getting ridiculous, I have been sent pictures of cat and dog poo, vomit, wee, calls early Sunday morning about owners leaving dogs to bark while they went out. If you own a property and rent it out , please include a NO PETS CLAUSE, this is a great complex, but its being let down by owners/renters who couldn’t give a damn about others on the complex, if you add the clause, we will do our best to fix these issues.
After discussions, and assurances, we have allowed DIGI to install fibre optic cables onto the complex, they are in the process of running fibre to every floor, with 500mbps available for just over 8 euros, currently on C block, they aim to have everything ready in the next few weeks, as soon as we have more info about the packages and how to sign up, we will pass them on.
I got a call from an owner about a man knocking at doors, I found him on C4, he said he was collecting for charity, if he didn’t get an answer he left a leaflet under the door, he may have been genuine, but who knows, I escorted him off the complex, and told him not to come back again.
The Swimming pool.
12 new umbrellas arrived for the pool, this gives us one for every base and a couple of spares, all purchased from sunbed money, and not from the community funds !!.
The large tank in the pool pump room seems to be holding, since the repair.
Last week there was an incident at the pool, someone came down to the pool in the afternoon, and found the sunbeds locked, he then overturned 2 stacks of locked sunbeds, an owner who was at the pool, tackled the offender and a heated argument took place. I was informed and went to speak to the person. He later apologised and agreed it was a stupid thing to do, a big thank you to the owner on A1 , for looking after our complexes interests.
Library open every Wednesday from 10am to 11am, located by the post boxes . Not open on public holidays. Big thank you to Linda Carey for her continued support for the library
Emergency night / Disturbance.
Starts 11pm till 7am, you can call them on 671 14 66 16. If you have a problem, please call them.
Had a complaint from an owner who was told to stop making noises after 11.30pm, by our night security man. That’s his job, quiet hours are 11pm to 8am as per our agreed complex rules !!.
What’s happening in and around Los Cristianos.
Nothing to report this month
Thank you for taking the time to read this update.
Steve.
