FEBRUARY 2020

We had great weather through February until the end of the month when we were hit with high winds, the worst calima in memory and a few forest fires to top it off.

This weather is most unusual  and hopefully won’t return any time soon.  Now the weather has returned to normal and is very warm.

I wish to thank Jose and our cleaning staff for their hard work getting our complex back to its usual standard after the calima. We do ask you to be patient as it does take a time to get back to normal especially when the calima hung around for so many day.

Some owners did sweep and mop the community area around their own apartment which was a great help to them and we thank you.

Corona virus.

Tenerife hit the news with people being diagnosed with the virus in a hotel in Adeje. This situation is now resolved and the hotel is working normally again. The spanish government have bought in measures to control the problem ,one of which is to ban gatherings of 1000 people or more , this unfortunately means that the l

Los Cristianos carnival has been suspended. However apart from Italy flights seem to be running as normal to most places to and from Tenerife airports.

Many holiday makers are still coming to the island and having a great time, they are reassured  in the knowledge that the spanish government are doing all they can to make sure visitors are safe here.

Sadly in mid February a very dear friend of ours passed away after a short fight against cancer. Many of you will also have known Sharon and the rest of her family from D301, who have all spent many happy holidays here over the years. Sharon was a lovely bubbly lady who will be missed by many. Our condolences go out to all members of her family with love from ourselves and all of her friends here.

What happening in and around Los Cristianos

You may or may not be aware that the Los Cristianos Carnival due later this month, has been cancelled due to the Corona Virus issues, we did have a full agenda for the week leading up to the grand parade. It may be rescheduled sometime later in the year.

However, here are some other item’s that may be of interest ( these may be subject to change as per above).

Sun 5th April – El Origen del Hielo (tribute show to Frozen) at the Auditorio Infanta Leonor, Los Cristianos, 5pm, tickets 15 euros.
Fri 10th April – The Passion. Traditional Good Friday enactment of the trial and cruxifiction of Christ. Takes place in the centre of Adeje town from Noon with a large cast and music. Very dramatic and emotional, maybe a little unerving for young children. All free but thousands of people line the main street so arrive early.
Sat 11 April – Queen Project. Tribute band at the Auditorio Infanta Leonor, Los Cristianos from 8pm, tickets 20 euros.

Added by Steve, with thanks to Colin Kirby for the info.
