APRIL 2022

Last Updated on Tuesday, 10 May 2022 11:18 Written by Paul Tassell Tuesday, 10 May 2022 11:18

April was fairly quiet at the complex and the weather improved as the month went on.

Many owners are now reforming their apartments after the long period of uncertainty with the pandemic and problems with travel from all parts of the world.                                        We do ask if you employ builders to reform your apartment please inform them of the working hours permitted, this is being fair to the builders and the other owners on the complex.    The working hours are 9 til 5 , they must also make sure that walkways, stairs and lifts are kept clean at all times whilst removing rubble etc from apartments.              Also they must not hold our lifts when transporting supplies.                                                     We know that most builders  do clear up and are courteous to other owners and our cleaning staff, but it only takes a few to spoil it for all.

We go to AGM on Friday 20th May  our first for 3 years.   You should all have received copies of our accounts and can see that we are in a good financial position.                  However we will have to replace most of the fire hoses and cases on the complex as under Spanish law any over 20 years have to be replaced.  This work was due to start in March but unfortunately has been delayed by supply problems, hopefully work will start soon.

Please let us have your proxy forms if you are unable to attend the meeting and we look forward to seeing you all very soon                                                                                               Paul

MARCH 2022

Last Updated on Sunday, 17 April 2022 05:59 Written by Paul Tassell Sunday, 17 April 2022 05:59

The weather carried on being changeable throughout the month but seems to have settled down now and it is a lot warmer.

Coronavirus regulations have been eased more now and although Tenerife is now in tier 2 a lot of the restrictions have gone.   We are still wearing masks inside commercial buildings like shopping centres, shops and restaurants etc.   There will be more easing of restrictions on 20 April, when mask wearing will be at the discretion of the individual business premises,  however they will still be mandatory on public transport and in airports and hospitals for example.     The restrictions around the pool have also been eased.    We have now unlocked and cleaned all sunbeds around the pool area for use by residents and there are also a number of parasols around the pool area.  Please use them,  but when you are finished with them please lower parasols and put your sunbed back on the pile, this will reduce the possibility of damage to parasols and keep our pool area tidy and make it easier for the cleaners to carry  out their work.

We will be holding our AGM later in May as we are now allowed to meet in greater numbers. Notifications are being sent out to all owners by email very soon, the notification will include the accounts for the past 2 years as we were not allowed to hold a meeting.  The accounts are in good order.   We have not had an increase in community fees for 13 years now and we are still working within our budget and also have a very healthy bank balance so once again we are not asking for a rise in community fees this year.

I have been mulling over my personal position as President and was seriously considering not standing this year, throughout  the pandemic we have been under a lot of pressure to maintain all the extra laws that have been imposed on all residential communities.   It was all for the good of the owners and the community.   The authorities had the power to impose massive fines for not conforming to covid laws, (which they did in some cases). Unfortunately some owners just did not take this on board and were blaming myself and the committee for their holiday being ‘ruined’    I would explain that the law was there to protect the majority of people and I would not risk the community being fined just for a few who had no intentions of sticking to the law.       This got very frustrating and I was ready to stand down this time but recently when I explained to owners why I would not stand again I was encouraged by  the amount of owners from all nationalities who asked me to carry on as President, it really has been good to know that such a large number of people are still behind us as a committee,  so I have taken the decision to stand again at this AGM in May.

Please make sure your fees are up to date and if you could please return your proxy forms ASAP thank you.

I wish to thank all the owners who support us and a big thank you to our staff who carried on working through the pandemic.

Regards  Paul

FEBRUARY 2022

Last Updated on Tuesday, 29 March 2022 03:56 Written by Paul Tassell Monday, 14 March 2022 06:31

This year is moving on fast it is hard to believe we are into March already.

February had a mixture of weathers ,quite warm during the days but we had some winds and some calimas kept returning and now into March it still isn’t settled.

We have been discussing holding an AGM this year and we will be allowed to hold a meeting in May however at the moment we are not sure of the rules that may be in place at that time.

Please make sure your community fees are up to date by the end of this month as it is the end of our financial year and any debtors on 1st April will be listed in our accounts.

I would like to thank the vast majority of you who even through the hard times we have been through have managed to keep payments up to date, as you know they need to be paid to enable us to keep the complex in good repair.  l will know more about the meeting by the next blog,  I will make sure it is published earlier next month.

We continued to see more owners during the month making their first visit since the pandemic hit in 2020, it is lovely to see you and I hope you can get  back to visiting and enjoying your apartments more regularly.

We are still in tier 3 in Tenerife but hospital numbers and infections are going down and we hope to go to tier 2 very soon .

When we went into lockdown the pool was completely closed.  The pool restrictions have been very tight through the pandemic and are now eased quite considerably, we have for some time put out approx half of our sun beds and asked that people using them cleaned with the disinfectant spray provided. Some have been fine with this but we still have some who will not play ball with the rules. We will shortly be making more beds available as the rules are eased.

Although the rules are starting to be more relaxed in Tenerife please keep safe, masks are still mandatory in shops and bars etc and outside if you can’t distance so keep one with you at all times when you are  out and about,

We look forward to seeing you around the complex soon.

Paul
