JULY 2023

JULY became very hot with a few calimas and weather warnings for high temperatures, but a lot of people made the most of the good weather although some found it too hot. It was nice to see a lot of owners comeing out for their summer break and good to have a catch up after a long period of time.
The complex is now very busy and its good to see so many people enjoying themselves, however we are still getting complaints about some peoples behaviour around our pool area. I must reiterate once again that most of the pool rules which are posted around the area are in fact Spanish law, yet year after year people allow their children into the area under 12 years old and unattended, drinking whilst actually in the swimming pool, and there are still inflatables being used in the pool, and people persist in proping open the gate to the pool. There was an incident in another complex in Los Cristianos only last week where a 5 year old was draged from under an inflatable in a pool and is now seriously ill in Candelaria hospital. Please please follow the rules, for the safety of the children.
Jose and Matilda go off on their yearly holidays at the end of August and we will have contract cleaners on site to cover their work.
Many apartments are changing ownership at the moment and i wish to remind owners new and old that we do have a list of rules workmen on the site must keep to, these are available in different languages.
Please enjoy your time at the Heights this Summer and make sure you have your sun cream with you and drink plenty of water, it is very hot.
Regards Paul
JUNE 2023

June was hot for most of the month and we had a few Calimas which added to the heat,
The complex was mostly quiet throughout the month but is getting a lot busier now with the Spanish schools and other countries breaking up the last week in June, it is nice to see a lot of old faces that have not been out to their apartments for some time.
The pool bar is now open and they are doing food from 10 till 4 and the bar is open till 9pm Sam and his staff are very welcoming and I have had good reports on the food, I went down for coffee with friends the other morning and the coffee was good and from a proper machine .
Can I please remind you that if you are leaving your property empty for a period of time make sure you leave keys with a responsible person you know to have the apartment checked from time to time. There have been incidents on some complexes where apartments have been occupied by people without the owners knowledge and once these people get in they are very difficult to get out.
Also with the busy times coming for the pool area please abide by the rules about children unattended under 12 in pool area, no inflatables, don’t prop open pool gate etc, these rules are for the safety of everyone and are Spanish law, most people who flaunt these rules have been told numerous times before and it does get a little tiresome telling the same people year after year.
We are looking forward to a busy summer and seeing owners out here enjoying themselves.
Take care Paul

The weather throughout May was very good with plenty of sunshine.
The AGM took place on the 19th at restaurant Coy, I would like to thank the restaurant for looking after us that day,
I would also like to thank all of you who have supported me and my Commitee over the years I do appreciate it. My thanks also go out to all at universal properties especially Etelina and Eladio for their help and support.
The AGM was well attended by the owners who were here at the time and it was good to see them all. The committee remains the same but with the addition of two new members, we welcome Alex and Marta both living on Block D. When I opened the meeting I welcomed the owners and made it clear that this would be the last time I will stand as President. I have been President for 15 years now and I feel that is long enough.
The accounts are still in good order and the debtors are very low, only a handful of owners think it is OK to not pay community fees for the upkeep of the complex. It was agreed at the meeting that we will start legal proceedings against the debtors, which will add considerably to their debt.
The AGM went well and Etelina has now finalised the minutes and they will be going out at the beginning of next week.
Scott has now left the pool bar and it has been taken over by Sam who has recently moved onto the Heights. The bar remains closed at the moment for painting, cleaning etc and I am told by Sam that he will hopefully get it open again by the end of June, we wish him all the best with his new project.
Summer is now approaching and the complex will be getting busier and I ask you all to please speak out if you see people breaking the rules around the complex as the usual people will insist on using inflatables in our pool and propping the pool gate open, (which is an offence under Spanish law), putting towels etc over balcony walls. We have the same problems with the same people every year.
Chatting to owners after the AGM, there were some owners who did not realise the Night time Emergency telephone number displayed in the lifts is the number of our Night porter. Can I remind you he comes on site at 11pm each night and goes off duty at 7am, this is 7 days a week, if you have any issues between these hours, loud TV, Music, dogs barking, noise from other apartments or from terraces, please call him, we pay for the service so it makes sense to use it. if you want to add it to your mobile for quick reference, the number is 671 14 66 16.
Also a quick reminder that walk ways are not to be used as play areas, there are many notices around the complex stating this , however people are still allowing their children to play football, tennis and other games in these areas !!.
. We look forward to seeing you all in the next few months and maybe we can have a beer at the bar.
Regards Paul
