APRIL 2023

Last Updated on Thursday, 11 May 2023 12:38 Written by Paul Tassell Thursday, 11 May 2023 12:38

The weather in April turned fantastic with very warm days and nights.

There were a lot of owners over for the Easter period, and the island seemed to be busy everywhere, it was nice to see it back to normal.

Its AGM time again and the notifications have gone out to you all on email. The venue is Restaurant Coy again with the first call at 11am on 19th May.   Unfortunately they couldn’t facilitate us any later in the day which a few owners had asked us for.

The present committee will stand again this year but I have made it known that this will be my last year.

Unfortunately we don’t know what is happening with the pool bar as it seems to be closed indefinitely at the moment,  I will try to find out what is happening and let you know when I have any further information.  We do have a vending machine down by the pool area and that is refrigerated so you can get cold drinks and snacks.

I would like to thank those of you who have supported us over the years and hope your support will continue.

Generally the complex is running quite smoothly and still within our budget. We do continue to have problems with noise from certain dogs on block’s  B, C and D and cat problems on D. We have written to the owner of B206 to inform him that his  tenants will not conform to community rules and refuse to put their dog on a lead on the complex, we will keep an eye on this and take all necessary steps to have them conform to the general rules of the complex.

Best wishes to you all

Paul

March 2023

Last Updated on Tuesday, 18 April 2023 11:49 Written by Paul Tassell Tuesday, 18 April 2023 11:49

March was a very hot month in the Canaries wall to wall sunshine, most people got out and enjoyed the weather with the pool area much busier than it has been .

We carried on with general maintenance jobs around the complex and if you noticed workmen on the roof of your block they were replacing the silicone in the expansion joints as some had plants growing out of them and could be seen from the lifts, if these were not replaced it would cause big problems in the future.

We have had a Difibrulator fitted near the lift on floor 4 in block B, this was discussed at the last AGM but we delayed for safety reasons.  The unit that has been fitted is easy to use and safe, all you do is turn it on and it shows you where to place the pads and then carries on itself,  we are just hoping that this unit is not tamperd with as it is potentially life saving.

The AGM this year is on 19th May at the Coy restaurant at 11 in the morning, unfortunately we could not get any other time, the notices will come out very soon.

The entrance access system is now fitted.  If  you want to be registered to use it send us your phone number or if you prefer you can write your name, apartment and phone number on a piece of paper and put it in the community post box on the office door, once registered you will be able to open the front gate from your mobile phone,  you will be  sent a message when it is registered.

It is with much sadness that I have to inform you of the passing of 2 long standing owners in the past month,  Angela Nova from D block who died whilst here in Tenerife our condolences go out to Franco her husband and family members.

And in the past few days we lost Mike Hanna after battling illness for some time, again our condolences to Sheila and her family,  I was lucky to be able to call Mike a friend and he will be sorely missed.

FEBRUARY 2023

Last Updated on Sunday, 12 March 2023 02:42 Written by Paul Tassell Sunday, 12 March 2023 12:12

The weather through February was also unsettled but still quite warm, it became overcast in the afternoons but was still quite pleasant and a lot better than the reports we saw from around Europe and the UK . now however into March it is very hot.

The TV problems persist and we have now lost BBC 1 AND 2 altogether , this is out of our control as the sd channels have been turned off in the UK, we are told other channels will follow.  If you want to talk to us when you come out to your apartment please get in touch and we will discuss the options with you .

We have now denounced Hollywood Mirage for the second time concerning the noise created by their air con units, they run all the time and are very disturbing for owners on that end of our building, we have also sent a Burofax from our lawyer to them stating the problem and we expect a reply within 6 weeks otherwise we will ask for permission from the owners at the AGM in May to start court proceedings against them.

AGM the AGM Will take place on 19th May but bear with us because we have not yet finalised the venue for it , we will let all owners know the venue when the notices go out in April, it would be nice to hold it close to the complex.

There are a lot  of apartments changing hands at the moment and it is sad to see some owners who have owned since the beginning selling up , we will miss you but we also welcome new owners some of whom we have met and a lot we haven’t,  We welcome you  to come down to the office next to the post boxes on April 12th around 10.30am for us to meet new owners .

As I said the weather seems to have at last settled and it is hot and sunny all day now hopefully we will see you all soon at the complex .

On 17 March Los Cristianos carnival starts and it is a couple of weeks of fun for all, it is always a very good parade and well worth seeing . Steve will be putting the agenda for carnival on this post just below soon. I hope you can attend.
